Amber Rose has just landed a role in a new upcoming ABC sitcom entitled “Selfie”.
The sitcom is based on a woman who is obsessed with social media and becomes famous on the internet after a video of hers goes viral (No worries guys it wasn’t a sex-tape). Amber places a character named “FitBrit” and I am BEYOND EXCITED to see this series become successful. Anybody who knows me KNOWS I LOVE Amber Rose so I will definitely be tuning in the Fall when the show premiers!
“I’m so excited. I start shooting in August.”
P.S This is Amber at the BET Awards this past weekend.
The media puts words in my mouth all the time and this is no different. I will always take a stance on women writing b/c I believe in us! I believe we’re smart enough to write down our own thoughts and perspective, just like the men do. I’ve been saying this for 5 YEARS. I fell in love with Lauryn Hill b/c I knew she was the author behind
those amazingly profound and articulated songs on the MisEducation. I wondered how Lauryn tapped into my brain and wrote an album on love, betrayal, passion, pain, triumph, brokenness…. Did she read minds? It’s the same reason I have a different level of respect for Missy. I know she’s a writer and a producer. Women MUST aspire for more. I’ve congratulated Iggy on the success of Fancy, publicly. She should be very proud of that. All the women nominated should b proud. That will never change my desire to motivate women to write. Our voices have to be heard. I hope I inspire up & coming females to do that.
For those who dont know, Nicki minaj accepted her award at the BET Awards saying “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it…No, no, no, no shade,”
Many believed that she was throwing a subliminal to Iggy who was also in the same category as Nicki for Best Female Hip-Hop artist. Honestly this isn’t the first time Nicki has mentioned that she writes all her own music so I don’t understand why this is any different. I think that because she took it to Twitter to clarify the subject, there shouldn’t be anymore confusion about whether she was or was not throwing shade.
